The Edwards SIGA-DDOS Optica Intelligent Duct Smoke Detector is an addressable duct detection device designed to monitor air movement within HVAC systems for the presence of smoke. It provides early warning of combustion within ductwork, helping prevent smoke distribution throughout a building.
This detector uses a photoelectric light-scattering sensing method combined with advanced digital signal processing to analyze air samples drawn through a sampling tube. The system continuously evaluates environmental conditions, comparing real-time data against historical patterns to distinguish between actual fire conditions and non-fire disturbances, significantly reducing false alarms.
The SIGA-DDOS is engineered for installation flexibility and long-term reliability. Its compact housing allows installation in tight spaces, while features such as environmental compensation, differential sensing, and onboard diagnostics help maintain stable performance over time. The detector also includes an onboard Form C relay for controlling auxiliary equipment such as HVAC shutdown systems.
